Ice jam flood frequency and annual damages at Dawson City on the Yukon River / Peter S. McCreath, G.K. Bowden, C.D. Sellars.

Title: Ice jam flood frequency and annual damages at Dawson City on the Yukon River / Peter S. McCreath, G.K. Bowden, C.D. Sellars.
Author(s): McCreath, Peter S.
Bowden, G. K.
Sellars, C. D.
Date: [1989]
Publisher: Winnipeg: Manitoba Water Resources Branch
In: Proceedings of the 5th Workshop on Hydraulics of River Ice/Ice Jams, June 21-24, 1988, Holiday Inn Downtown, Winnipeg, Manitoba. ([1989]),
Abstract: Flooding occurs regularly here. Protective dyke was constructed in 1959, and was raised in 1968. This was overtopped and major damage occurred in 1979. In order to provide economic justification for further raising of dyke, flood frequency analyses and flood damage evaluations were carried out, and dyke was constructed to 200-year flood level in spring 1987. Discussion, p. 81-83.
