Record #99667:

Arctic haze: air pollution in polar regions / Jost Heintzenberg.

Title: Arctic haze: air pollution in polar regions / Jost Heintzenberg.
Author(s): Heintzenberg, Jost.
Date: 1989.
In: Ambio. (1989.), Vol. 18(1) (1989)
Abstract: Presents horizontal, vertical and seasonal distribution of particulate matter and compares physical and chemical properties of haze particles with those of continental aerosols. Radiative effect of aerosol is quantified in terms of instantaneous heating rates. Meteorological and chemical evidence is reviewed relating Arctic haze to mid-latitude anthropogenic sources. Discusses possible secular trends in Arctic air pollution as well as number of unresolved issues.
