Record #99165:

Evidence against pervasively deformed bed material beneath rapidly moving lobes of the southern Laurentide ice sheet / Lee Clayton, D.M. Mickelson, John W. Attig.

Title: Evidence against pervasively deformed bed material beneath rapidly moving lobes of the southern Laurentide ice sheet / Lee Clayton, D.M. Mickelson, John W. Attig.
Author(s): Clayton, Lee.
Mickelson, D. M.
Attig, John W.
Date: 1989.
Abstract: During Wisconsin glaciation, lobes of southern Laurentide ice sheet moved rapidly due to high subglacial water pressure. Stratigraphic evidence suggests that this rapid movement was probably not accompanied by widespread pervasive deformation of unfrozen subglacial material. If deformation occurred, it was probably restricted to current till sheet being deposited.
