| Abstract: | General mathematical models which describe processes of heat and mass transfer in ice covers are investigated by methods of theory of similarity and analysis of dimensionalities. Also determines main criteria of similarity which characterize dynamics and thermal regime of glaciers. Results obtained and conclusions drawn make it theoretically possible to classify glaciers and qualitatively different ice covers, and to determine degree of difference of processes occurring in them.
