Population dynamics of Icelandic-nesting geese, 1960-1987 / A.D. Fox, H. Gitay, Myrfyn Owen, D.G. Salmon, M.A. Ogilvie.
Title: | Population dynamics of Icelandic-nesting geese, 1960-1987 / A.D. Fox, H. Gitay, Myrfyn Owen, D.G. Salmon, M.A. Ogilvie. |
Author(s): | Fox, A. D. Gitay, H. Owen, Myrfyn. Salmon, D. G. Ogilvie, M. A. |
Date: | 1989. |
In: | Ornis Scandinavica. (1989.), Vol. 20(4) (1989) |
Abstract: | Annual November censuses since 1960 demonstrate that both pink-footed goose Anser brachyrhynchus and greylag goose Anser anser wintering in Britain have shown sustained expansion during last 20-30 years. It is proposed that breeding success may be correlated with meteorological data collected from wintering, staging and breeding areas. Paper examines changes in mortality and productivity since 1960 and proposes model to explain population growth. |
Notes: | Ornis Scandinavica. Vol. 20(4) :289-297 (1989). |
