Record #98794:
Geologic analyses of sediments from beneath the west Antarctic ice sheet and the provenance envelope concept / Reed P. Scherer.
Title: | Geologic analyses of sediments from beneath the west Antarctic ice sheet and the provenance envelope concept / Reed P. Scherer. |
Author(s): | Scherer, Reed P. |
Date: | 1989. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1989.), Vol. 70(43) (1989) |
Abstract: | Geologic data from sub-ice sediments are evaluated in light of geophysical and glaciologic data for that region. From these data, provenance envelope can be described for each sample; this is defined as potential source area from which sediments have been eroded and carried by glacial processes. Envelopes will overlap, providing basis for geologic map. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 70(43) :1081 (1989). Abstract for AGU Fall Meeting, December 4-8, 1989. |
Keywords: | 551.332.2 -- Drift, glacial. Deposits. E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages. (*7) -- Antarctic regions. (*7.7) -- West Antarctica. |
