Record #98794:

Geologic analyses of sediments from beneath the west Antarctic ice sheet and the provenance envelope concept / Reed P. Scherer.

Title: Geologic analyses of sediments from beneath the west Antarctic ice sheet and the provenance envelope concept / Reed P. Scherer.
Author(s): Scherer, Reed P.
Date: 1989.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1989.), Vol. 70(43) (1989)
Abstract: Geologic data from sub-ice sediments are evaluated in light of geophysical and glaciologic data for that region. From these data, provenance envelope can be described for each sample; this is defined as potential source area from which sediments have been eroded and carried by glacial processes. Envelopes will overlap, providing basis for geologic map.
Notes:

Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 70(43) :1081 (1989).

Abstract for AGU Fall Meeting, December 4-8, 1989.

Keywords: 551.332.2 -- Drift, glacial. Deposits.
E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages.
(*7) -- Antarctic regions.
(*7.7) -- West Antarctica.
