Icebergs in the Barents Sea / T.E. Vinje.
Title: | Icebergs in the Barents Sea / T.E. Vinje. |
Author(s): | Vinje, T. E. |
Date: | 1989. |
Publisher: | New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers |
In: | Proceedings of the Eighth International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering--1989--The Hague, The Netherlands, March 19-23, 1989. Vol. 4. Arctic and polar technology. (1989.), |
Abstract: | Extreme events of iceberg occurrences have been surveyed. Long-term observations from Hopen and Bjørnøya are discussed briefly and reports from ships for period from 1981 to 1987 are given. Use of SPOT satellite panchromatic images for iceberg detection is demonstrated. |
