Abstract: Comments on too-slow transition to labour-saving technologies, too-rapid increase in number of jobs; inefficient organization of work; unjustified legal restrictions on extra earnings by employed, pensioners and students; lower living standards and conditions, with comparatively higher cost of living; and insufficient development of educational sphere. Recognizes need to devise effective methodology for study and forecasting of social processes; to collect economic and social data; to study human factors; and to elaborate scientifically valid recommendations for better management of social development of Siberia.
