| Abstract: | Investigations involved research on supra- and subglacial meltwater drainage in order to delineate water-drainage basins. This required repeated detailed photogrammetric mapping, radio echo-sounding, hot-water drilling, and mathematical modelling of subglacial drainage. Provides basis for setting safer limits for planning hydroelectric power in area, and gives understanding of glacier hydrology for continuous ice cover such as Greenland ice sheet. |
