Record #97629:

Radiocarbon dates on deglaciation, Cordillera Central, northern Peruvian Andes / P.W. Birkeland, Donald T. Rodbell, S.K. Short.

Title: Radiocarbon dates on deglaciation, Cordillera Central, northern Peruvian Andes / P.W. Birkeland, Donald T. Rodbell, S.K. Short.
Author(s): Birkeland, P. W.
Rodbell, Donald T.
Short, S. K.
Date: 1989.
In: Quaternary Research. (1989.), Vol. 32(1) (1989)
Abstract: Three radiocarbon dates, together with relative-dating criteria, place limits on deglaciation history of Manachaque valley. Ice retreated from late glacial maximum by 12,100 a BP. During ice retreat, numerous moraines were deposited throughout valley. Glacier cover was reduced to half by 9700 a BP and to <10% by 6450 a BP. Little or no ice by Early Holocene.
