Development of satellite tracked ice beacons to study ice drift tracks and oceanic heat fluxes off Labrador / Simon J. Prinsenberg, I.K. Peterson.

Title: Development of satellite tracked ice beacons to study ice drift tracks and oceanic heat fluxes off Labrador / Simon J. Prinsenberg, I.K. Peterson.
Author(s): Prinsenberg, Simon J.
Peterson, I. K.
Date: 1989.
Publisher: Ottawa, Ontario: National Research Council of Canada. Associate Committee on Geotechnical Research
In: National Research Council of Canada. Associate Committee on Geotechnical Research. Technical Memorandum. (1989.), Vol. 144 (1989)
Abstract: Describes development of these beacons to collect atmospheric, oceanographic, and ice data from drifting pack ice off Labrador and Newfoundland coasts as aid to 5-year programme on response of sea-ice drift to atmospheric and oceanographic forcing. Outlines 1988 winter deployment and describes water-ice beacon that was successfully field-tested in landfast ice.
