Record #97354:

Holocene ice fluctuations on Brabant Island, Antarctic Peninsula / James D. Hansom, C.P. Flint.

Title: Holocene ice fluctuations on Brabant Island, Antarctic Peninsula / James D. Hansom, C.P. Flint.
Author(s): Hansom, James D.
Flint, C. P.
Date: 1989.
In: Antarctic Science. (1989.), Vol. 1(2) (1989)
Abstract: Only few sites with glacial deposits are found on island. Three moraines occur with 100 m of present ice edge, but significance is not clear. However, shelly tills have also been found and radiocarbon-dated to 5610±80 a BP. Concludes from this evidence that glacier fluctuations corresponded to those elsewhere in area\; restricted ice cover before 5000 a BP, followed by expanding glaciers.
