| Abstract: | Comparison of Southern Ocean diatom populations from surface ocean production, underlying Antarctic sediments, and laboratory dissolution experiments demonstrates that dissolution can account for the temporal and spatial variations in sedimentary diatom assemblages observed in Southern Ocean sediments. |
