| Abstract: | Chicks of Tetrao urogallus reared at Meltaus game research station, Finnish Lapland. Male chicks found to have disproportionately small breast muscles and large legs. This deviation from more optimal development of female chicks is thought to be partly responsible for higher mortality rate of male chicks. |
