Abstract: Describes use, performance, and results of study in which remotely operated vehicle (ROV), equipped with camera and lights, was deployed under ice of Lake Erie. Direct observations were made under clear ice, candle-cleared ice, and refrozen slush, all 18 to 25 cm thick, and in vicinity of ridge 3 m thick.
