Record #96659:
Formulae for total porosity evaluation on sodium chloride ice and urea-doped ice / Franz Ulrich Häusler.
Title: | Formulae for total porosity evaluation on sodium chloride ice and urea-doped ice / Franz Ulrich Häusler. |
Author(s): | Häusler, Franz Ulrich. |
Date: | 1989. |
In: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1989.), Vol. 16(1) (1989) |
Abstract: | Method of Cox and Weeks (1983) for determination of total porosity in sea-ice samples from given salinity, temperature and density is applicable to ice frozen from other similar aqueous solutions as well. Phase relations of systems sodium chloride-water and urea-water are analyzed in this respect. Coefficients for total porosity determination on NaCl and urea-doped ice are given for subeutectic dopant concentrations and supereutectic temperatures. |
Notes: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. Vol. 16(1) :83-87 (1989). |
