Record #96651:
Velocity and surface-lowering measurements on Law Dome, Antarctica (abstract) / Neal W. Young, P. Malcolm, P. Mantell, E. McGibbon.
Title: | Velocity and surface-lowering measurements on Law Dome, Antarctica (abstract) / Neal W. Young, P. Malcolm, P. Mantell, E. McGibbon. |
Author(s): | Young, Neal W. Malcolm, P. Mantell, P. McGibbon, E. |
Date: | 1989. |
Publisher: | Cambridge: International Glaciological Society |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1989.), Vol. 12 (1989) |
Abstract: | Reports results of 1987 survey, made about 20 a after previous survey. Two techniques used: direct comparison of measured surface elevations, and implied change by comparing gravity measurements at same geographic location. First method indicated change in surface elevation is <10 m and probably <5 m. Second method suggests change is <3 to 5 m and probably close to zero. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 12 :220 (1989). |
Keywords: | 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.324 -- Land ice. 551.324.29 -- Land ice, miscellaneous forms: Law Dome. 551.324.54 -- Land ice, flow of particular glaciers: Law Dome. E5 -- Glaciology: land ice. (*7) -- Antarctic regions. (*747) -- Wilkes Land. |
