Record #96647:
Comparison between SPOT and Landsat imagery of Rutford Ice Stream, Antarctica (abstract) / David G. Vaughan, Christopher S.M. Doake.
Title: | Comparison between SPOT and Landsat imagery of Rutford Ice Stream, Antarctica (abstract) / David G. Vaughan, Christopher S.M. Doake. |
Author(s): | Vaughan, David G. Doake, Christopher S. M. |
Date: | 1989. |
Publisher: | Cambridge: International Glaciological Society |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1989.), Vol. 12 (1989) |
Abstract: | SPOT image taken on 8 January 1987, when compared with Landsat image of 3 February 1974, shows that surface topographic patterns have been displaced down-stream by several kilometres. Ice velocities derived from these measurements agree with those made during limited ground-based surveys in vicinity. Discusses implications for theory of partial grounding of glacier sole. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 12 :217 (1989). |
