Record #96633:

Electrical resistivity sounding related to ice-crystal size: a technique for probing the Holocene-Wisconsin boundary (abstract) / Sion Shabtaie, Charles R. Bentley.

Title: Electrical resistivity sounding related to ice-crystal size: a technique for probing the Holocene-Wisconsin boundary (abstract) / Sion Shabtaie, Charles R. Bentley.
Author(s): Shabtaie, Sion.
Bentley, Charles R.
Date: 1989.
Publisher: Cambridge: International Glaciological Society
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1989.), Vol. 12 (1989)
Abstract: Measurements and model studies at several locations in Antarctica have resulted in discovery of rather sharp change in resistivity at depth identified with Holocene/Wisconsin transition at two locations. This change may be attributed primarily to changes in crystal size. At one location on Ice Stream B, where ice is 1060 m thick, best model using this relationship shows Holocene-Wisconsin boundary at 750 m depth.
