Record #96621:

Evolution of Crary Ice Rise, Antarctica (abstract) / Robert A. Bindschadler, Bruce Koci, Sion Shabtaie, Eric Roberts.

Title: Evolution of Crary Ice Rise, Antarctica (abstract) / Robert A. Bindschadler, Bruce Koci, Sion Shabtaie, Eric Roberts.
Author(s): Bindschadler, Robert A.
Koci, Bruce.
Shabtaie, Sion.
Roberts, Eric.
Date: 1989.
Publisher: Cambridge: International Glaciological Society
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1989.), Vol. 12 (1989)
Abstract: Ice rise examined in December 1987, by means of technique used by Lyons and others (1972) in which measured temperature versus depth profile of ice rise is compared to temperature profiles calculated by numerical model. Model predicts transient temperatures of ice as base of ice cools after grounding. Results suggest ice rise is not more than few centuries old.
