Record #96602:

Discontinuities in a transverse velocity profile of a valley glacier measured by photogrammetry / W. Kick.

Title: Discontinuities in a transverse velocity profile of a valley glacier measured by photogrammetry / W. Kick.
Author(s): Kick, W.
Date: 1989.
Publisher: Cambridge: International Glaciological Society
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1989.), Vol. 12 (1989)
Abstract: Surface movement of part of Chungpar (or Tarshing) glacier, Himalayas, immediately below ice fall was investigated. Stereophotogrammetric method provides opportunity of measuring many more points than by using other procedures. Shape of transverse velocity profile indicated normal stream-like flow, not blockschollen movement, as might have been expected because of high velocity. However, discontinuities in ice fall were also found in velocity profile of glacier.
