| Abstract: | Describes 150 MHz radar system designed specifically for use in Antarctica, to be mounted on over-snow vehicle. Uses coherent integration and solid-state technology. Thus, only 20 W of peak output power can produce signal-to-noise ratios comparable to those of older high-power systems. Survey was conducted on Ice Stream B in December 1988. Map of ice thicknesses with contour interval of 10 m was produced. |
