Record #96406:

Metamorphism of ultramafic rocks in the Central Scandinavian Caledonides / Kurt Bucher-Nurminen.

Title: Metamorphism of ultramafic rocks in the Central Scandinavian Caledonides / Kurt Bucher-Nurminen.
Author(s): Bucher-Nurminen, Kurt.
Date: 1988.
In: Norges Geologiske Undersøkelse. Special Publication. (1988.), Vol. 3 (1988)
Abstract: Lenses and boudins represent parts of dismembered ophiolite sequences and bits of sub-continental upper mantle. Metaperidotites are isofacial with metamorphic envelope, usually metasediments but also metagranitoids. Metamorphic assemblages co-define regional metamorphic gradient of prograde metamorphism. Maximum temperature was too low to replace calcic amphibole by calcic pyroxene. Regional distribution of assemblages in ultramafic rocks defines regular pattern crossing nappe boundaries.
