Abstract: Seismic reflection, refraction, magnetic and gravity measurements were made on Lofoten margin in 1982, to investigate crustal structure of area adjacent to assumed ocean-continental crustal transition. Results on landward side fo Vøring Plateau Escarpment indicate that Mesozoic basin is located below flow basalt covering continental slope off Lofoten. This and more southerly basins could be result of northern continuation of Rockall Trough rift system. Inter-crustal reflectors imply that transition is landward of seaward dipping sequence.
