Record #96390:

Environmental conditions in the Barents Sea in regard to icing / S. Løset, S. Vefsnmo, J. Karas, M. Kelly.

Title: Environmental conditions in the Barents Sea in regard to icing / S. Løset, S. Vefsnmo, J. Karas, M. Kelly.
Author(s): Løset, S.
Vefsnmo, S.
Karas, J.
Kelly, M.
Date: 1988.
In: Norwegian Hydrotechnical Laboratory. Bulletin. (1988.), Vol. 28 (1988)
Abstract: Severe icing can occur on drilling units and vessels, with coldest weather and highest wind speeds in late winter or early spring. Paper describes database of marine air temperature, sea surface temperature and wind speed for Barents Sea and how these affect risk of sea spray icing on offshore units. Ice accretion rates and consequent ice loads for section of such units are computed for variety of icing parameters.
