Record #95284:
Patterns of reproduction in high-latitude northern- and southern-hemisphere seabirds / J.P. Croxall, A.J. Gaston.
Title: | Patterns of reproduction in high-latitude northern- and southern-hemisphere seabirds / J.P. Croxall, A.J. Gaston. |
Author(s): | Croxall, J. P. Gaston, A. J. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Ottawa: University of Ottawa Press |
Abstract: | Reproduction and demography compared among and between high-latitude species of Procellariiformes, Spheniscidae, and Alcidae. Analyses suggest broad, but patchy, ecological convergence between alcids and penguins, but, by themselves, provide no explanation for why so few Procellariiformes breed in north polar regions. |
