Record #95270:

Ridge modelling: model scale simulation of ramming tests conducted with the USCGC Polar Star / George Comfort.

Title: Ridge modelling: model scale simulation of ramming tests conducted with the USCGC Polar Star / George Comfort.
Author(s): Comfort, George.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Montreal: Transport Canada, Transportation Development Centre
Abstract: In order to further icebreaker efficiency, aims were to improve present knowledge of ridge modelling and to investigate preferred techniques for production of model ice ridges. Field data, collected during ramming tests with ship in partially consolidated first-year ridges in Bering Sea in 1982, were used as reference events for tests in ice tanks.
