Record #95242:

Ice-proximal deposits of the Champlain Sea at South Gloucester, near Ottawa, Canada / Brian R. Rust.

Title: Ice-proximal deposits of the Champlain Sea at South Gloucester, near Ottawa, Canada / Brian R. Rust.
Author(s): Rust, Brian R.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: St John's, Newfoundland: Geological Association of Canada
In: Late Quaternary development of the Champlain Sea basin. (1988.),
Abstract: Stratified deposits of sand and gravel occur in ridges which are exploited for construction materials and provide excellent, continually changing exposures of constituent sediments. Focuses on new exposures with well-displayed juxtaposition of different facies of subaqueous outwash. Evidence is also presented for early colonization of depression on ridge by marine fauna. Depression is attributed to meltout of buried glacier ice.
