Adfreeze strength of fresh and sea ice bonded to steel piles / W.G. Nelson, A. Phukan.

Title: Adfreeze strength of fresh and sea ice bonded to steel piles / W.G. Nelson, A. Phukan.
Author(s): Nelson, W. G.
Phukan, A.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: OMAE 1988 Houston. Proceedings of the Seventh International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering. Vol. 4. Arctic engineering and technology ... presented at ... Houston, Texas, February 7-12, 1988. (1988.),
Abstract: Purpose of study was to measure short-term adfreeze strength that could be developed between ice and uncoated steel surface. Samples of fresh and saline ice were tested on unpainted steel tubes. Ice temperature varied from 0 to -52°C and salt content from 0 to 30 mil.
