Abstract: Modelling of ice accretion caused by freezing sea spray. Mainly considers local enthalpy change of surface brine film due to time variations of spray flux. Numerical model is compared to results from icing experiments carried out in wind tunnel equipped to reproduce freezing of sea spray, and results show it can be used to predict ice build-up rates and ice loads on marine structures in real situations.
