Record #94991:

Habitat specificity and morphological variation in two Antarctic Usnea species / R.J. Hancock, R.D. Seppelt.

Title: Habitat specificity and morphological variation in two Antarctic Usnea species / R.J. Hancock, R.D. Seppelt.
Author(s): Hancock, R. J.
Seppelt, R. D.
Date: 1988.
In: Polarforschung. (1988.), Vol. 58(2/3) (1988)
Abstract: Examination of Usnea antarctica and U. sphacelata which occur with overlapping distribution in Windmill Islands, Budd Coast, eastern Antarctica. Niche specificity relates to moisture availability and shelter. Stem anatomy, stem papillosity and soralia characteristics found to be most useful criteria for taxonomic identification of lichen in continental Antarctic populations.
