Fracture mechanics approach to various Arctic steel structures and their reliability analysis / Y. Hagiwara, H. Takashima, T. Inoue.

Title: Fracture mechanics approach to various Arctic steel structures and their reliability analysis / Y. Hagiwara, H. Takashima, T. Inoue.
Author(s): Hagiwara, Y.
Takashima, H.
Inoue, T.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Trondheim: Tapir Publishers
In: Polartech '88. International Conference on Technology for Polar Areas, the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Trondheim, Norway, 15-17 June 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Study of brittle fracture of steel plates used for icebreaking vessels and semi-submersible platforms. Reliability assessments of structures were carried out by means of analysis of fatigue crack propagation from postulated initial defect and evaluation of brittle fracture strength by considering loading conditions throughout service life.
