Abstract: Impact of freely floating ice feature against grounded offshore structure was analyzed to determine global forces and contact pressures in time domain. Factors analyzed included ice-failure mode, mass, velocity and mechanical properties, and shape of structure and ice feature. Ice features studied included icebergs, multiyear ice floes and ridges, bergy bits, etc. and several forms of offshore structures were examined.
