Impact loads on offshore structures / Alfred L. Tunik.
Title: | Impact loads on offshore structures / Alfred L. Tunik. |
Author(s): | Tunik, Alfred L. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute |
In: | Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1. (1988.), |
Abstract: | Impact of freely floating ice feature against grounded offshore structure was analyzed to determine global forces and contact pressures in time domain. Factors analyzed included ice-failure mode, mass, velocity and mechanical properties, and shape of structure and ice feature. Ice features studied included icebergs, multiyear ice floes and ridges, bergy bits, etc. and several forms of offshore structures were examined. |
Notes: | In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1 / William M. Sackinger, Martin O. Jeffries, eds. Proceedings of Ninth Conference (POAC-87) on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, held at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK, 17-21 August 1987. |
