Record #94923:
A numerical simulation method for failure analyses and load estimation / Tadashi Shibue, Kazuyuki Kato, Yasushi Kumakara, Yutaka Toi.
Title: | A numerical simulation method for failure analyses and load estimation / Tadashi Shibue, Kazuyuki Kato, Yasushi Kumakara, Yutaka Toi. |
Author(s): | Shibue, Tadashi. Kato, Kazuyuki. Kumakara, Yasushi. Toi, Yutaka. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute |
In: | Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1. (1988.), |
Abstract: | Concerned with sea-ice loads on icebreakers and offshore Arctic structures. Method uses thick-walled shell element, based on concept of rigid bodies-spring models (RBSM), which uses some functions required to predict failure behaviour of ice. Model verified in ice tank with level ice sheets and model ice ridge. Discussion, p. 423-425. |
Notes: | In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1 / William M. Sackinger, Martin O. Jeffries, eds. Proceedings of Ninth Conference (POAC-87) on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, held at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK, 17-21 August 1987. |
Keywords: | 551.326.7 -- Sea ice. 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.326 -- Floating ice. 539.42 -- Ice, tensile strength. E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice. |
