Record #94912:

Experimental determination of the fracture toughness of urea model ice / D.L. Bentley, Devinder S. Sodhi, J.P. Dempsey.

Title: Experimental determination of the fracture toughness of urea model ice / D.L. Bentley, Devinder S. Sodhi, J.P. Dempsey.
Author(s): Bentley, D. L.
Sodhi, Devinder S.
Dempsey, J. P.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute
In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1. (1988.),
Abstract: Describes results of preliminary experimental study in which wedge-loaded, tapered, double cantilever-beam geometry was chosen. Expression for fracture toughness as function of applied load, specimen geometry, and ice thickness was developed using finite element programme. Results of tests are presented.
Notes:
