Abstract: | Describes results of preliminary experimental study in which wedge-loaded, tapered, double cantilever-beam geometry was chosen. Expression for fracture toughness as function of applied load, specimen geometry, and ice thickness was developed using finite element programme. Results of tests are presented. |
