| Abstract: | Trajectory (north-west of Axel Heiberg Island in Arctic Ocean) and environmental data are examined from 6-16 May 1986. During this time, ice island moved 20 km south-east. Wind shear, water drag, and Coriolis forces are computed, and compared with forces estimated from observed motion. Mechanisms for pack-ice and ocean-current forces are proposed.
