Record #94901:

Electromagnetic measurements of a second-year sea ice floe / Austin Kovacs, Rexford M. Morey.

Title: Electromagnetic measurements of a second-year sea ice floe / Austin Kovacs, Rexford M. Morey.
Author(s): Kovacs, Austin.
Morey, Rexford M.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute
In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1. (1988.),
Abstract: Measurements made from surface and from helicopter (unsuccessful) in spring 1985 in Beaufort Sea near Prudhoe Bay. Data obtained were used to develop relationship for estimating ice thickness from two-way time-of-flight impulse radar electromagnetic wave travelling from surface to bottom of ice and back to surface. Allowed estimation of thickness from 1 to 8 m, with or without snow cover.
Notes:

In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1 / William M. Sackinger, Martin O. Jeffries, eds.

Proceedings of Ninth Conference (POAC-87) on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, held at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK, 17-21 August 1987.
