Study of the flexural strength and elastic modulus of sea ice in the Bohai sea / Ji-Xue Sui, Fu-cheng Li, Zhi-jun Li, Ming-yuan Zhang, Yong-hai Yu.

Title: Study of the flexural strength and elastic modulus of sea ice in the Bohai sea / Ji-Xue Sui, Fu-cheng Li, Zhi-jun Li, Ming-yuan Zhang, Yong-hai Yu.
Author(s): Sui, Ji-Xue.
Li, Fu-cheng.
Li, Zhi-jun.
Zhang, Ming-yuan.
Yu, Yong-hai.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute
In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1. (1988.),
Abstract: Presents results of in-situ cantilever beam tests conducted in winter 1985-86. Both properties change parabolically with respect to brine volume and linearly with respect to ice temperature. Both are sensitive to load rate, and flexural strength for downward loading is greater than for upward.
Notes:

In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1 / William M. Sackinger, Martin O. Jeffries, eds.

Proceedings of Ninth Conference (POAC-87) on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, held at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK, 17-21 August 1987.
