Record #94890:

Time-series variations in ice-crushing / Gary W. Timco, Ian J. Jordaan.

Title: Time-series variations in ice-crushing / Gary W. Timco, Ian J. Jordaan.
Author(s): Timco, Gary W.
Jordaan, Ian J.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute
In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1. (1988.),
Abstract: Ice crushing during edge-loaded indentation in fresh-water ice examined. Develops qualitative model of crushing, which explains load variations in terms of pulverization, crushing, and clearing events. Time-series variations reveal that crushing process is not continuous but consists of many repeated crushing events with continual clearing.
Notes:

In: Port and ocean engineering under Arctic conditions. Vol. 1 / William M. Sackinger, Martin O. Jeffries, eds.

Proceedings of Ninth Conference (POAC-87) on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, held at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK, 17-21 August 1987.
