Record #94856:

Modelling of dynamic ice loading of offshore Arctic structures / S.D. Hallam, J.G. Pickering.

Title: Modelling of dynamic ice loading of offshore Arctic structures / S.D. Hallam, J.G. Pickering.
Author(s): Hallam, S. D.
Pickering, J. G.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Trondheim: Tapir Publishers
In: Polartech '88. International Conference on Technology for Polar Areas, the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Trondheim, Norway, 15-17 June 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 1.
Abstract: Based on experiences due to extreme ice conditions acting on drilling structure in Beaufort Sea, models of deformation and fracture of ice were combined with simple structural models to show how ice/structure interaction can explain peak loads, peak-to-peak amplitudes and frequencies of cyclic loading. Concepts used explain well both principal trends in field data and observations made from structure.
