Abstract: | Analytical model is developed and exploited numerically using finite element approach to investigate dynamics of ice-ship interaction and to compute impact forces acting on icebreaker hull as it breaks ice by ramming. Considers ice sheets of thickness up to 1 m, with vessel travelling in continuous mode at velocities up to 4 m s⁻¹. |
