Problems in creating regional industrial complexes and industrial centers in the northern part of eastern Siberia / S.I. Savin.
Title: | Problems in creating regional industrial complexes and industrial centers in the northern part of eastern Siberia / S.I. Savin. |
Author(s): | Savin, S. I. Sevin, S. I. |
Date: | [1988?] |
Language: | Russian transliteration entered into original records using BGN/PCGN 1947 romanisation of Russian; Cyrillic text in MARC 880 field(s) reverse transliterated from this by automated process; BGN/PCGN 1947 text then upgraded to Library of Congress romanisation. |
In: | Problems of the North. ([1988?]), Vol. 21 ([1988?]) |
Abstract: | Covers Ust'-Ordynskiy Buryatskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug, Irkutskaya Oblast', Chitinskaya Oblast', Buryatskaya ASSR, Krasnoyarskiy Kray, Taymyrskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug and Evenkiyskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug. Discusses extent and range of natural resources, and potential industrial centres; stresses necessity of efficient sectoral structure. Advises limitation of development in far north of industries not directly linked to utilization of natural resources; service industries should be located (if possible) in regions where conditions are more favourable, but would be dependent on transport network. It would be possible to have generalized distribution of industry and population throughout near north. Makes reference to conservation and potential of tourism in region of Ozero Baykal. Translated from Problemy Severa, 1983, Vol.21, p.86-97. |
Notes: | Problems of the North. Vol. 21 :125-139 ([1988?]). |
