Abstract: Glaciologists collecting ice cores at Crary Ice Rise recovered sediments from subglacial bed containing Pliocene fossil marine algae, diatoms and sponge fragments suggesting an open marine area in the interior basins of West Antarctica 3-6 Ma BP.
