| Abstract: | Presented at 8th Symposium on Antarctic Geosciences, National Institute of Polar Research, Tokyo, October 22-23, 1987. Surface temperature distribution surveyed austral summer 1986-87 using infrared thermometer. Convecting lava lake, 20-30 m diameter, in Main Crater measured 800°C and ground temperature near active vent was 80°C; ground temperature of most parts of crater wall below 0°C. |
