Abstract: Bank protection system developed at Galena, AK, to protect against thermo-erosional niching associated with hydraulic conditions. Subsurface investigations and geotechnical evaluation identified soil conditions, extent of massive ground ice and other parameters necessary for design and construction of bank protection.
