Title: | Storage tank foundation design, Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, U.S.A. / B. Nidowicz, Donald E. Bruggers, V. Manikian. |
Author(s): | Nidowicz, B. Bruggers, Donald E. Manikian, V. |
Date: | 1988. |
Publisher: | Trondheim: Tapir Publishers |

Abstract: | Object of study was to design cost-effective foundation that would preserve ice-rich permafrost beneath tanks. Data were obtained from seven borings drilled and sampled to depths of 5.5 to 8.5 m, and selected samples were tested to measure moisture content, dry density, particle size, specific gravity, Atterbury limits and freezing-point depression. |
Notes: | In: Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. Vol. 2. / Kaare Senneset, ed. |
Keywords: | 624.139.62 -- Permafrost control. E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering. (*49) -- Alaska. (*494) -- Alaska, northwestern. |
