| Abstract: | Two years after start-up, several short segments of buried trans-Alaska pipeline were suffering thaw settlement. Remedial solutions were developed: overburden relief, underpinning, re-levelling, grouting, ground freezing, remoding and re-routing. These are described and several case histories are summarized. |
