Record #94390:

Behaviour of long piles in permafrost / A. Theriault, B. Ladanyi.

Title: Behaviour of long piles in permafrost / A. Theriault, B. Ladanyi.
Author(s): Theriault, A.
Ladanyi, B.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Trondheim: Tapir Publishers
In: Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Axial loading of long pile in permafrost results in transient redistribution of stresses along shaft due to time-dependent displacements characterizing creep of frozen soil. Until now, finite element or finite difference methods had to be used for simulating behaviour of such piles. Now, analytical solution is presented and predictions are compared with published data obtained by numerical calculation and by direct observations.
