Record #94356:

EM soundings for mapping complex geology in the permafrost terrain of northern Canada / A.K. Sinha.

Title: EM soundings for mapping complex geology in the permafrost terrain of northern Canada / A.K. Sinha.
Author(s): Sinha, A. K.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Trondheim: Tapir Publishers
In: Permafrost. Fifth International Conference. August 2-5, 1988. Proceedings. (1988.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Earlier bore-hole temperature measurements in Big Lake area of Mackenzie delta indicated decrease in permafrost thickness westwards from 700 to 100 m over distance of 20 km. In attempt to obtain more detailed information about degree of change in permafrost thickness at any location along this line, transient electromagnetic soundings were made for distance of 25 km. Field procedure is described and results are presented and discussed.
