Record #94295:

Evaluation of prenosologic states in man in the Arctic / V.I. Davidenko.

Title: Evaluation of prenosologic states in man in the Arctic / V.I. Davidenko.
Author(s): Davidenko, V. I.
Date: 1988.
Publisher: Oulu: Nordic Council for Arctic Medical Research
In: Circumpolar Health 87. Proceedings of the 7th International Congress on Circumpolar Health, Umeå, Sweden, June 8-12, 1987. (1988.),
Abstract: Prenosologic states of 234 Antarctic polar expeditioners examined. Four states distinguished: adequate adaptation, stressed mechanisms of adaptation, inadequate and broken adaptation. In latter case, more than 50% of subjects had borderline arterial hypertension or T-wave disturbances which correspond to "northern" cardiopathy (angiopathy). Method of prenosologic screening can be applied to selection of personnel for polar expeditions and in prevention of "circumpolar" pathology.
